Cabin packing diary
In April 2026 we sent the cabin kit list to returning families. Pressure cookers ride in the same crates as sesame grinders. Grain sacks go in the middle so they do not crush the stoneware. If you have ever helped our move-in crew, you already know the drill.
The list is longer this year because a few households are coming from farther away and will stash extra pans for kids camp snacks. Label every box with cabin number and whether it is kitchen or bedding. We still have the rolling carts by the dining hall.
Some of you will unpack at Pinecrest, then later pack a whole house when work takes you to another city. Treat that second move with the same care you give camp crates: wrap the knives, keep the umeboshi upright, and do not let rice sit in a damp garage.
If your next address is a London kitchen after the lake week, crate the teaching-kitchen pieces as if they were heading to cabin 4. The same patience that gets a wok up the mountain will get it through a city doorway.
